Manu Bhojwani, Chairman of Gateway Developments, is a prominent, popular figure in Singapore Society, who also functioned as President of the iconic Singapore Cricket Club for three terms
Scion of an Indian-Sindhi family who were among the early trading pioneers in post-war Singapore, he was tutored by his father infusing his cultural heritage: ethnic Indian moral, philosophical, spiritual values and commitment to the community.
Simultaneously he was exposed to western culture, languages, national military service and the motivating principles guiding economic growth of an emerging island nation.
Manu joined the family Trading Business (Shankar’s) supervised by hard taskmasters, his father and uncle, learning/acquiring the finite nuances of retail/wholesale business and the importance of skilled-dealing with people: customers, suppliers and trade-associates.
Active in the community and business circles, Manu espoused the name-change from Sindhi Merchants Association to Singapore Sindhi Association, facilitating scope of executing a wider range of activities for the community.
Realizing the growth limitations of the traditional Trading Business model, Manu has been increasingly investing profits and efforts into several lucrative Real Estate projects across Europe and Asia Pacific, besides pioneering a coffee plant in vietnam, which earned the group unprecedented success. Manu remains strongly committed to business, which generates VALUE for his customers, addresses their needs and motivates their positive Word-of-Mouth recommendations to other potential customers and associates.
Dinesh Bhojwani, is a 3rd generation scion of the trading pioneer Shankar’s family, tasked to continue their business tradition in wider arena.
Following high school in Wesley College (Perth), Singapore National (Army) Service and graduation in Commerce from Curtin University, he worked with:
